We are offering a yoga class for preschool kids beginning Tuesday, May 5th, at 10:30am. It’s a 45 minute class that will include games, movement and stillness that will teach young children how breath awareness can help them master their bodies and minds. Research has demonstrated how yoga benefits children and adolescents in stress management, self-regulation, and healthy development. We structure our yoga classes for children based on developmental age groups, so we can meet kids where they are developmentally and foster the fun and enjoyment of yoga. The best benefits children derive from yoga are increases in self-esteem, focus and self-awareness, as well as the physical benefits of strength and flexibility. In adults, meditation and mindfulness practices have proven to increase gray matter in the frontal lobe, which results in improved concentration skills and compassion. Why wait? Start children on a positive path at an early age.
