Foundations of Ashtanga Yoga

This 75-minute class is designed for those at the beginning stages of yoga practice as well as for those wishing a slightly slower class.  This class is based on Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, which is designed to be “meditation in motion”…we link breathing and movement, in a flowing series of postures.  We will cover the fundamentals of Sun Salutation, some standing postures and seated postures of the Ashtanga form, completing half of the Ashtanga Primary Series of postures.

Power Yoga

Power Yoga is a 60-minute fitness-based vinyasa practice. An offshoot of Ashtanga Yoga, it has many of the same qualities and benefits, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction.

Vinyasa Yoga

In this 60-minute intermediate to advanced yoga class, we synchronize the breath with movement through a progressive series of Asanas (poses).  This produces internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies, improves circulation, flexibility, strength, while calming the mind. Modifications are provided for a variety of levels.  Each class begins with pranayama and ends with a short led meditation and quiet relaxation.

Chair Yoga

This 45-50-minute gentle yoga class is practiced in while seated in a chair and/or standing using the chair for support. This all-levels class is great practice for everyone, as it deepens flexibility, strengthens personal body awareness, and incorporates yoga breathing exercises. Each class begins with pranayama and ends with a short led meditation and quiet relaxation.

Previously Taught

All-Levels Yoga

You are invited to this 60-minute class, which is appropriate for all levels of yoga students, including beginners. This class is designed to connect the students with their inner teacher in order to develop a yoga practice that meets their physical, emotional and mental needs. Students are prompted to work at their “edge” and to let go of competition and unrealistic expectations.  Modifications are given to help reach the individual’s fullest potential.

Recharge Yoga (All-Levels)

This 45-minute class will leave you feeling worked out, stretched-out and rejuvenated.  We will work on building strength and flexibility while improving overall oxygenation of the body through the breath work that permeates the entire class.  Modifications will be provided so that every student can receive the maximum benefit regardless of where they are in the yoga practice.  We will end with a five-minute relaxation and guided meditation that will leave you feeling centered and recharged.

Preschool Yoga

This 30-minute preschool yoga class is a fun, creative class teaching poses and breathing to keep little bodies strong and nurturing relaxation to help our youngest yogis feel calm, confident and secure.  We play yoga games that awakens inner creativity while teaching skills that will benefit kids for a lifetime.
